Noah
Well friends, I just finished watching Noah. And I have to say I loved it. Darren Aronofsky did a wonderful job. And the actors were awesome.
For the past week or so I've been reading reviews about the movie Noah. And most of them were christian reviews. For some reason a lot of christians hated it and they're tell other people to not see it. People should see it weather christian or not. It may not be exact to the bible story, but to tell the truth, what movie about the bible really is? Each christian movie has it's flaws of truth. The way the writers interpreted the story of Noah was how they saw parts of it.
It was interesting to me to see how others saw the story of Noah. It wasn't how I imagined it growing up but everyone I think sees it a different way. I believe that parts were different because they wanted everyone to enjoy it. Not just christians. And yet it seems that christians are the only ones not enjoying it and I can't seem to understand why. I'm a christian and I loved it. It made me think about the story I had been told and had read over the years. And it made me want to read it again and see what parts of the bible story they did use.
I was watching an interview that someone had with a few of the actors a couple of days ago and I found it very interesting. The actors talked about how they read the actual story from the bible and how after that some of them wanted to read more. Shouldn't christians be encouraging something like that? The movie makes people want to see where the story came from. It's kind of like when the Harry Potter series came out and the people how hadn't read the books yet wanted to read them to see what the movies were based off of.
It may not be completely actuate, but at least it's based off a true story. Just like a lot of other movies. Lots of movies are based off true stories and are somewhat changed. It just happens.
While watching the movie though during the dramatic areas with the dramatic music, I felt like I was watching the movie "Knowing". It had the same kind of music which sometimes made me forget what movie I was watching in my head.
Overall I was impressed. After all the ragging I had read about it I was expecting less. But It kept my attention and kept me interested. Did you guys know that Darren Aronofsky also directed "The Black Swan"? He also doesn't have a religion. He says, "I'm not really psyched about organized religion. What interests me is that there is a spiritual truth that connects all religions". So I think he did a wonderful job with the movie.
I would go to see it again if I could. I think everyone should see it. It's a fabulously done movie and it's worth a watch. I truly think that lots of people would love it no matter what religion they are.
I'm sorry if I ragged on a bit. I hope you all get to see it at some point. Cause it's totally worth it.
